Introspectation

The deeper motivations for Travelling and The Inner Truths it may reveal

What are you looking to get out of travelling? Is it a sense of freedom, great experiences, love? For me, I believe it was all of those things.

We are only limited in this life by our beliefs. As humans we face restrictions physically, mentally and spiritually. We build walls around our beliefs, ceilings on our ambitions, floors to keep us from falling. Now, imagine what kind of life you would lead if, by pure chance, an earthquake split your floor in two, cave in your ceiling and crumbled your walls. Among the rubble, you feel lost, you feel loss, you grieve for that which you once considered safe, true and unchangable. You may stay here for some time, paralysed, unable to leave the ruins.

There will come a time, however, when you face a pivotal crossroads. You have several options. One is to build back your home with the same bricks and materials, hoping to recreate what was lost, so that one day it was as if almost nothing happened. Two is to take this chance to rebuild your home, but even bigger than before. You add on a swimming pool, an underground wine cellar and a home cinema on a roof. “When life gives me lemons, I make Spritge” you may think. However, there is a third way. You put on your shoes, gather your most cherished possessions in a bag, and walk. You keep walking and walking. As you walk, you see many objects, animate and inanimate, places, near and far, people, light and dark.

“Take the road less travelled”. I know this may sound a bit cliche and overused now, but the truth remains underchanged.
